VP1000 ships this month. We have already shipped many and more will be off the line next week. It will talk and walk with any MX since MX 132 or will work as a stand alone piece.
Speaking for myself, the stereophile shot doesn't do the TT justice. Taking the height of the base into account, I can understand why McIntosh designers chose to use the glass front.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I really would like to know more about specs and performance and I'm looking forward to the final design spec. I am pretty confident this "ugly duckling" will soar like a swan once the needle hits the groove.
agreed, the stereophile pic makes the table look much higher than the glass. I'm still not sure that I like the look but it is already much better in these pics. I guess I'll have to see it in true life
Agree that these pics give an entirely different perspective --in both senses of the word-- on the design. I would at least partially (but perhaps still not fully) retract my previous criticisms of the design, based on these pics, and wait until more is out about these. Sure look forward to eventually HEARING one!
The C500 looks like a great product, but I still dream of an updated MDA1000 that would convert hi-rez PCM over HDMI, because I only have digital sources, so I would think more about a "digital" stereo pre-amp
Ah, and while you're at it, maybe a SS/tube output switch like Musical Fidelity did on the X-DACv8
When might the McIntosh website be updated to reflect these new components? Especially as at least one product has been shipping in numbers and is coming off the production line. What's up with the C2300 and changes from the C2200?
