The C200 was designed to mate with the MC1201. Any McIntosh preamp should work with any McIntosh amp. From 50W2 to MC2KW, they all should work.

Ron,

I didn't mean can the C200 be used to drive any of the McAmps, but am asking about the physical proximity of the units.

Assume that I have a stereo rack with the C200 Preamp section on the bottom (Controller section up higher in the rack) and a pair of MC501s on amp stands right next to/on either side of the rack. Are the amps close enough to the C200 to disturb the MC transformer?

The C200 preamp section is fully shielded inside its' case. McIntosh amps do not throw any stray magnetic fields. We could not put say the MC head amps in the same chassis as the C46 without noise problems.
On the newer preamps we have moved to R-Core transformers which are dead quiet and do not radiate so this would not be so much of an issue now.

Are the iso feet on your SL1200 the ISONOE feet? They look very intriguing on the KAB website.

Yes they are and although a little pricey they are well made and work. The rack we used at CES has polished aluminum check-plate shelves that are prone to resonate. With these feet set loose on the 1200 we had no feedback. The stock feet would not have cut it here. These also raise the table which looks good in my opinion. The feet got a lot of positive comments from the vinyl folks.
