Yeah....if priced right....jump on them....FAST!!
I have the little Celestion 3's (5" woofer & 1" metal dome tweeter).
The English press considered them THE bargain speakers of the early 90's.
Spectacular sound stage with more than reasonable bass response.
I imagine that the Celestion 11's would be AWESOME!!

Not gravedigging, but I went back tonight and they were still there, so I bought them. $70 for the pair, which seemed quite steep, but at that point I was already committed. Parents are going to go ballistic though, but oh well. I put it off for a very long time because I didn't think I had the space or the need. I still don't, but somehow I don't care.
I'll be sneaking them inside later tonight, in the wee hours.
Is there no cure for this affliction?

$70 is a good price for those little gems. They are fun speakers and will take quite a little beating if you want. I had a pair on a work system and thought they where ok. They do have a bit of phase shift in the upper mids but good placement will help. Enjoy!!
I still have a pair of DL8 series 2's that are much better. It turns out I got them for $80 years ago at a Hock Shop and they have filled my garage with sound ever since.

Kinda, after 40 or so pairs you run out of room and start to know what you like anyway then you can start thinning the herd of those you don't been any longer. It's a process. :thmbsp:

A great find at that price.
I have Celestion 9's in the bedroom. (Sounds like the same tweeter and mid but a smaller woofer and cabinet than yours)
The 9's have an extended top end that benefits from pairing with a really good amp.
They seem to benefit more than most speakers from some playing time if they have not been used for a while.

Apparently no one in this house can go to bed before three in the morning. I've only done a bit of playing at very low levels, and I can already tell that treble extension will not be an issue with these. Plenty of bass (perhaps too much, or maybe I just need to move them away from the wall). Obviously I need to be able to run more than three-hundredths of a watt to get some idea though. That will be tomorrow.
I'll post pictures when I can find the USB cable for my digital camera. I haven't used the thing in forever. Specs (dimensions, etc.) will come as well, I figure I'll post them here since any other info seems to be impossible to find searching Google. Leave the information for someone else who may need it.

They have (like my Celestion 3's) one of the earliest metal dome tweeters made.
Celestion really got it right with these IMO.
Unlike el-cheopo metal dome tweeters....these are extended WITHOUT being harsh!
Run them without a decent receiver or amp...and they can really sing!!

Here are the pics, finally. 
I like these speakers. Sufficient bass, often too much for my small room, but this may be my JVC receiver - it's always been a bit on the heavy side. I need to play around with EQ. These Celestions are not kind to poorly recorded material. They also make my Dynaco A-10s look ridiculously inefficient, but that doesn't really come as a surprise.
Physically, they seem to be in pretty good shape. There are some scuffs on the bottom, courtesy of the thrift from which they were purchased. They also have some paint on them but that will come right off with a bit of rubbing and the proper solvent.
No trouble from the folks, either. 'Tis good.

Earlier today these were about three feet apart from one another. I spliced in extra speaker cable and moved them apart another six feet to form a nice triangle with my chair. The 'boom' in the bass is gone and they're now running with a flat EQ.
In short, I think these speakers are fantastic. I'll steer clear of the standard adjectives: they're accurate and 'sound right', and leave it at that. They put my Dynaco A-10s to shame in pretty much every way. (Do note that the Dynacos need new caps, were manufactured twenty years prior to the Celestions, and that I have a tough room.) The only regret I have is that they're too big to come to school with my this August.
$70 well spent.

many thanks for this spec information.
Is this speaker still suitable placing on the tebale as Bookshelf speakers or must use stand/placing on the floor?

The first criteria is to position the tweeter near ear level for your normal listening position. Then you need to decide if you will be using them for critical or casual listening. My lifestyle does not support critical listening, so I cannot offer advice about that. As for casual listening, placing the speakers either on tables or stands will work, as long as you have the tweeter about the same height as your ears. You can play with positioning (toe in, toe out, tilting, closer/further from wall, etc) until you are happy with the sound. If you are like me, where you can place your speakers is limited. They have to go where they go.
