C'mon guys, someone must be a Cerwin Vega fan. Help me out here, please! Don't let the world economic meltdown distract us from SPEAKERS.:nono:

The world is going to hell in a handbasket due to fractional reserve banking, I know absolutely nothing about the CV26... BUT, boy o' boy - I stayed in a Holiday Inn last night!

Hi vegabass25. The woofer is a 12 inch unit and yes the surrounds are red with the cv logo on the dust cap. The cabinets are veneered oiled teak, very heavy and back ported. The cabinet size is 25x14.5x12 inches. The full model number of the speakers on the back plate holding the speaker connectors simply reads CERVIN VEGA 26. Mike, my CV's are much older than those in the picture on the website you listed. I don't know if it helps, but I am in Sydney Australia and I remember Cerwin Vega became very popular in Australia after the release of the movie Earthquake in the early 1970's.

Yes They were those wild speakers and cabs they used for the movie Earthquake and I just so happened to see a pair today at an outdoor festival. I wish I could help you on Id-ing these particular models. I had a set of 315 and a pair of S1's around 1977-79 and they sounded much better than anything else I've heard since then. You may have a set of Jewels on your hands. If It was me I would write Cerwin Vega and see what they have to say spec wise about them. How do they sound on the high end btw?

PS. Someone here had a set perhaps they are still around? http://www.audiokarma.org/forums/showthread.php?t=84843

well if they have the red surrounds then they are from probably the 80s though i think i have a friend who has some cv 26s that hes always braggin about ill ask him if he knows anything about thm.

My set in 1977 had orange surrounds but I don't know how far the Orange Red surrounds date back to.
