If they're like my ATs, there's a fuse for the speaker, with self resetting circuit breakers in the tweeters.

only the d7 and d9 had an overall fuse and they had manual breakers for the tweeters. lesser models had self resetting breakers on the tweeters and no fuse. the charts were pretty clear on what models had fuses but they had the breakers wrong.

Sorry if this has already been asked previously but anybody know about how much the D-7's MSRP was back in the 1980's? TIA

I've seen D-7 price from years 1983-84 Listed at $400.00/Pr and by 1988-89 prices up too $870.00... Published by STEREO REVIEW Magazine, hope this helps...

I read somewhere that the necro thread needs pictures.

Upon arrival of the newly purchased power amp, my ears were not pleased. I popped the grill cloth off of the D3s that have been sitting here seeing very little action, to discover a pile of orange shreds. That started my first D.I.Y. audio project.

After the cement cured for two days, Peter Gabriel's Biko was the first test listen.

I’ve got a nice pair of D2s that were thrift store finds a couple of years ago. After a refoam they sound great and have a punchy quality that keeps me putting them in rotation. It’s nice to see an old thread with good info kept alive.

Just bought a second pair of D9 speakers. (I repaired and flipped the first pair.) The previous owner refoamed them, but one was off and the voice coil was rubbing. I freed up the surround from the basket, shimmed the voice coil, and reglued the surround. Joy! Black and grey cabinet, with a black foam surround. View attachment 1717356

You should be ashamed of yourself. How dare you. Black foams on a Vega woofer, 15" at that.... SMH.
Just kidding. That color scheme really pops. I like it.
