I seem to remember that one could change the header on a created post. One of my original posts has evolved past where I started it and wanted to change the header but I can't remember how it was done.

Only staff can change the thread title.
Use the Report link, and ask the staff to change the title.

At the top right hand side of your thread there's a small Watch tab, and right next to it are three dots. Click on them then click on edit thread. Change the title to what you want.
That was exactly how you do it but I gather maybe it's frowned upon?
I believe most changes are slight and reflect what has eventually transpired in the thread. Like what you stated in post #1. As things progress solutions are found, then the title can be change to reflect the outcome.
I don't think it's frowned upon. It can be helpful.

Sorry, I have been out of the admin game long enough to forget that Subscribers CAN edit a thread title. Registered members must use the report link.
