Tried again for the 100 time last two days chat room tired of calling members .

When and if a chat room becomes available could someone post simple ,clear instructions; will be much appreciated.

Any more info on what problem you are having getting into the channel? Does it give you an error message?

These are all things that are important to know if anyone is going to be able to solve the problem.

I log in IRC Network: Newnet

underneath above appears Newnet :Random server

enter OK

Status screen appears enter there. connect very fast.

Screen appears enter #audiokarma go to blank chat room.

Now one thing during this process for some reason a "NetGamers big" pops up at the top above the status screen and in the status screen bar itself the following appears

Trust Net.DE.EU.NetGamers.Org:6666

This happens after l press the connect sign.

I realise l'm not a computer guy but the chat room settings work then they don't ; they appear to change themselves.

Grumpy is right l do get impatience.

I could not log in last night at all, tried 4 times. Get connecting message then nothing for 5 mins then disconnected and it tries again. Was working this weekend and monday for me. Will try again tonight....

Yeah Lefty the newnet server was down for me yesterday as well. It would attempt to connect up to the maximum number of tries and then give up.

I didnt have any problems in the chatroom. : I do wish it was more stable for the other members tho.

Ive yet to not be able to connect to the chatroom, then again I downloaded the MiRC client and just use that to chat since it has a ton of features I find useful. I havent tried connecting through the website except when we tested it out and it worked ok then. I will have time today to connect to it randomly and Ill report back with my results.

Wouldn't it just be easier to modify the old Volcano chat room?

Bigmacc, sounds like you are running mirc? Sometimes newnet servers join and leave the network and if you are using an old version it might send you to the wrong place which would explain why it might be giving you problems.

try connecting to the server irc.aohell.org (A specific newnet server instead of just any random one)

To do this type in this command "/server irc.aohell.org" without the quotes.

Like i've said before, connecting to irc.newnet.net (not a server itself, just connects you to any random newnet server) adds an unnecessary step into the connection process and creates the possibility of getting connected to an unreliable server.

I do believe the chat app can support multiple server entries as something like a primary server and a backup server. I’d STRONGLY suggest that we put irc.aohell.org or any other known stable newnet server a primary followed by irc.newnet.net as secondary/backup to minimize any connection problems.

Chris...come up with a list of newnet servers to add...then wards can add them to the app.

FIXED IT

I fix the problem; in the second step l clicked on add a box opens where you can enter mIRC etc then below the specific chat room.

It worked l tried it twice; met some sick guy there a "ProAc". Actually l kinda miss Pro when he is not around.
