Cheap Chinese 6P3P kit

It is still there. Looks like it got moved though.

Home/Kits/Audio Video

Their site is a little jumbled. They should have a kits section then break it down by type of kit...IMO.

Ahh ok. I see it now, thanks. I just bought a Miniwatt N3 off the bay - once I get this kit and build it, might be a worthwhile comparison.

This thread has quieted down a bit in the last few days... I wanted to ask if any of you start a build thread on one of these SR kits, would you please link to it in here so we don't miss it?

please/thank you. :)

I think we are waiting for Big & Pink to receive his. I know I am. I have a stash of super 6BG6GA's that I want to try.

I odered a kit and once I receive it, I will do a build with pics. Should be pretty easy even without instructions.

I bought this kit for my SO for Xmas!:yes: Anna just loves tubes.

Cheers,
Bob

Well, I got home and checked the mail on Friday...still no kit:tears:

Fingers crossed it wll be here before Christmas. I will follow up when I get home this Thursday.

Something else to look at. Great instructions. George Anderson a Motorola Engineer has a form on the diyaudio site. Can be built for low $ if desired and he may have his parts kit in the new year. Easy build with a circuit board and well liked on the forms. Edcor transformers can be used to make it affordable. They are well liked for the $. With shipping costs there may not be a big difference in price plus made in the U.S. products for easy support.

He also has a PP EL84 board and a SE or SET DHT board. All boards are $35 and he does have a parts kit for $65 for the PP board.

His site is a bit messed up so I'm posting some links. Once your on the page of the board you want just hit the links on the left.

He has very detailed instructions and I just thought more diy etc. guys should know about him.

Another one is Pete Millet's Engineer's amp that can be built for $325 , but there is no kit of parts just a board. He has other boards too.

Both honest great guys to deal with.

I've been looking at that one too, but the lack of an enclosure/chassis is a big problem for those of us with little more than a soldering iron. It's not a deal breaker. Just something to be considered because in my limited experience an enclosure is more work than the kit.

I have just bought and built a kit from the same site only its the EL34 SE version. It gives the option of using it with or without feedback. I tried it at first without feedback and there was a 120 Hz hum I could not get rid of. I tried it with Feedback and the hum is gone. I am getting 30 Hz to 20 KHz out of it at 5 watts. When buying this amp I had the choice to buy an amp that used a circuit board or was point to point and decided on the P2P design because in my opinion its easier to build and learn how the circuit works. It is also a more flexible option if I wanted to mod it in the future.

Yes the enclosure does add a lot of work if diy. I think the PCP is probably almost necessary because of the SS devices used on many of these boards. They do post the schematics if you want to do them point to point which would be easy for some of them anyway. Some people come up with some really great enclosures or top plates more commonly for their amps. It's that personnel touch too!

Hi Wigwam,
This is Garry the designer of Musical Paradise amps. Nice to meet you.

Hi. This is Wiggy, listener to amps made with less than high-end parts, who thinks they're swell. Nice to meet you. Care to amend your statement to reflect its subjective rather than objective nature?

How you like it?

Personally, I would never bash someone else's gear, no mater what I thought of it. I might point out some of its compromises. Hum, maybe we should put your kits under the microscope? Can we say high school cheerleader?
Peace out,
Al

Not a good start.

I thought about this amp last year, but then I read about the hum issues.
Did you fix the problem? A lot of people are very happy with the previous version.

~~~
The current version of the MP-301 MK2 has the built-in impedance switch to further lower the fade hum when driving low impedance headphones. It is very quiet now.
I have paid for the vendor fee. I am a newbie to the forum.
I didn't know those kits relate to specific vendors in this forum. I apologize for that.
Thanks for your comment. I appreciate it.
Well, in that case, welcome aboard! We've apparently missed an email somewhere!
While it's perfectly ok to talk about all the positive attributes of your products, it's also best to not make openly negative comments about competitors. The customers will make their own choices.
I'll leave the original posts deleted, and you can make a fresh start. :yes:
Can you please show me your top of the line gear? Looking for something different to try out. Maybe, I can stop spending money on transformers, and use the parts that you suggest, to build a world class amp?
