Chicago Area Receiver Repair

Guys, I have a vintage Fisher 500T that needs an alignment and some tweaking (recapping?). Is there any place in the general Chicago area that you'd recommend that I take it to?

Hi.

Deltronics on Halstead will do alignments. They recapped a Luxman integrated for me, but I don't know what that would cost as it was done on a previous repair warranty (I think I told you that story, not sure). They should be able to give you a price after a $20 inspection fee, or maybe since it's a flat out recap they'd have a rate. I've heard good and bad about them, but I have nothing but good things to say about how they treated me and my Luxman. They were also quicker than anywhere I've taken something to be repaired.

Thanks John. She runs well but something is not quite 100% with the receiver. It sounds beautiful though. I have been feeding it with my Pioneer CD player. I just want to tweak it it so it's perfect.

I second Deltronics. I used them for my HK880Vxi. They also have a shop in Woodridge, in case you're in the burbs. You can also call Tom at Upscale in Berwyn. He works out of his home but is a real straight shooter and usually won't charge you if he can't fix it.

Thanks all. I dropped my 500 off at Deltronics in Wooddale this morning. They assured me they were very familiar with the Fisher 500T. I'll let you know how it turns out.
