Looks like a $700 amp with a $29,300 audiophool markup from here . . . (and they don't even publish the frequency response spec, or any other useful information!)

Maybe there's a parallel universe in which a version of me buys $24,000 Class D amps!

Seriously though, lots of folks speak well of those Merrill amps but I'd rather stick with the 68 lb / ea type

I do agree that power amplification isn't the place to color the sound.

agreed, "spicy" BUT, I have seen folks spend a lot more for amps that sound no where near as good.
I have the smaller stereo model, in the lower decade of spices.

My ears say Merrill got this tight. His version of "class D" sounds nothing like the old class D we are used to. None of that fatigue our ears were protesting, none of the high order harmonics our bench instruments would capture / revealed.

It's sound sig is airy /spacial, incredible soundstage, serious grip on the woofers, difficult to fault. Again, nothing like the old school class D. Worth auditioning if the opportunity arises.

This is well within the "$picy" territory, even the smaller entry model is. At the same time, it is at the top of the game for sound performance.

edit, you did made me curious about frequency response. I should be able to measure that. My suspicion is that it will be ruler flat 20-20k and likely cut off after 50k.

I had little need to look at specs after I heard the thing. The ears did all the relevant test assessment. It took less than 15 minutes to make up my mid and pull the trigger on one, and trust me, the looks had nothing to do with it
