A little hard to tell, but it does look like the glass does sit a bit too high.

It started ~1mm proud but settled flush.
Nevermind - I just looked again. It's still a little proud of the wood!!

Hello everybody, 
Just an update:
I cleaned the L65 with water and degreaser and with water and alcohol.
I bought a product for restoring walnut furniture and pure wax.
I'm waiting for the boiled linseed oil and gum turpentine and then I will decide wich one to use.
Some doubt about black paint:
In some spots on the front, the matte black paint has chipped off. Wich paint do you recommend?

Not unless you're willing to carefully mask everything else on the speaker, and only leave these tiny areas exposed.
Wouldn't it be easier to use a small artist's brush, and carefully dab these areas with a product that came in a small bottle? You'd be done in a matter of a few minute's time.

You know I have a couple of cans of spray paint. I spray a little onto a cardboard or small glass container and brush it on.
It works. Really.

I found this matte black acrylic color in a store that sells paints.
I would like to do the touch-ups with a small brush.
What do you think of this paint? Is this a good paint for my purpose?
Bronze wool is the way to go. Non magnetic and doesn't rust.

As for the cut size of the sheet, does it fit correctly? Not sure, but you speak of compression.I received the pads for the JBLs, they are exactly the same thickness as the original pad, however, these new foam ones tend to compress under weight. I will do some tests, and if they don't work well, I will get the thicker ones.
Maybe this foam could be attached to the original existing Paper Card Stock?

It’s a large foam sheet, longer and wider than the original, so it will need to be cut. I’m thinking of inserting it on its own, just adding the aluminum JBL logo.
I don’t think I’ll attach it to the original cardboard sheet.
The weight of the glass could crush it, so I might buy a thicker foam.
Unfortunately, I’ve been very busy and haven’t had time to start the work; I’ve only bought all the tools and products for the restoration. I think I should be able to find time to do all the necessary work in April.
