I've always wondered how that table sounds. Also find the platter most interesting, I wonder about the theroy behind it.

Don't know but I always figured a thin record like an RCA Dynaflex might droop a little between the contact points... :scratch2:

Contacted the seller today, pickup ONLY.
A shame otherwise it'd be MINE. :D

If anyone's living in the vicinity PM me so perhaps we can work out of way of me getting it and you enjoying it for a while before shippping it.

I asked my dad shortly before he died and he said that he tried both a flat platter and the platterweight design while designing the hydraulic way back in 1960. He spent many months listening between the two and could not find any difference in overall sound, so he went for the platterweight design, firstly it looked completely different and he like to be different and secondly the less contact with the vinyl the better.

Yeh, that is a good price. Not much info though.

It says it has a cartridge.

Hmmm...:scratch2:

Not too helpful.

wow thanks for the info!

I have a transcriptors table, and although it is the least played of my tables, it sounds terrific and is always the center of attention.
Go for it!
If I lived within driving distance, I would already own it!

Michael, thank you very much for participating in this thread. I'm very curious... what's the main principle behind less contact with the vinyl being better?

Regards,
Gary
