Good is sorta relative, but I've had worse. OTOH, all those are sorta last resort for me. If I'm not time crunched I will venture off the beaten path (like exit the interstate or main highway to go into town) to find a more local-type joint.

Some say McDs is bad place to get coffee and coffee drinks as proper cleaning of the machine is said to be somewhat of a big to-do. Because of that, in many locations, it doesn't happen as well as or as often as it should. Fact or fiction, I can't say for sure.
 
I used to get a medium hot from Dunkin's for years. Two fifty plus tip, so pretty much three bucks for a cup o joe.

Lately, I've been going to a Cumberland Farms convenience store for any size coffee for one dollar and six cents.

I'm really not sure if Dunks was better coffee, or if they just really loaded it up with cream and sugar.

i personally dont like Mickey's coffee, but obviously many do.
years ago a friend managed a mcD, the coffee was so hot they used it to clean the floors at closing.
they also threw out bags of burgers because they had been opened, what a waste
 
Recently found out that most McD locations will brew a fresh pot if you simply ask for a fresh cup.

Tried it 2X: one time they were very gracious and advised me it would take 5 minutes and then proceeded to make a fresh pot .

I have to say freshly brewed McD coffee is much better than what I am usually served.

2nd time I asked for a fresh cup they poured it from the pot already made and told me "that is fresh" . No way to know with those steel carafes.

I often order a coffee with a shot of espresso @ McD's; it makes a good morning brew.

That is not sayi g much for the other places that serve you coffee. :D

Roasted something new today, a fermented natural. Smells pretty ripe to start, but gets sweet mid-roast. Took forever to get to first crack.

I was in a place where I needed coffee, had a kurig cup but no kurig:

I stacked 2 Red Solo Cups, cut a hole in the bottom of both, Lined the inside with paper towels, emptied the grounds in the paper towel, poked a few holes in the towel as I started the improvised pour-over, poked a few holes in the wet bottom of paper towel to speed up the drip.

Best coffee I've made myself to this day. And I use a French Press daily. Crazy!
 
I’m kinda a coffee nut, I drink mostly iced espresso I make in my Jura Giga 5. I roast and blend my own coffee. 10 shots on ice every morning in my Yeti lasts me all morning. Recently picked up this grinder made in 1901, just a decoration….

Can anyone recommend a good bag of coffee beans commercial enough to be found at any super market? I drink mine out of a French Press and like it black and flavorful, I prefer medium, dark, then blonde/light roasts in terms of flavor profile. I've had luck with Gevalia, some Peet's, but avoid Starbucks as I overdid those roasts in college so I like to keep another brand at home.

Probably get laughed at, but we buy 8 O'clock whole bean Columbian Peaks exclusively. I have a nice ceramic burr grinder and for my everyday cup of Joe, it's hard to beat for the price. Just ordered six (6) 11 oz packages on Amazon for $35.00

My wife & I meet twelve years ago at work and decided to invite her out on a coffee run to Starbucks. Many cups later, kids, grandkids, houses and a wonderful wife that supports my audio hobby I can say that was the BEST cup ever served.
My daughter now eight was a regular there since newborn and I'm pretty sure her her third word was Starbucks.:biggrin: Right after delivery my wife demanded good coffee! Drove quick to Starbucks to get her that and needed one myself being up for 20+ hrs.
Well in the here and now our Mr. Coffee machine broke after eight solid years of service. It brewed a decent cup of coffee. No complaints here. Having said that I'm glad to try a new one I've been eyeing for many, many years...

Technivorm.
Supposedly the king of the hill type coffee maker. We'll see. I'm not a coffee snob and as long as it's quality beans and HOT I'm good to go. Although I do like my iced coffee once in awhile.

As a Technovorm owner, never apologize for great coffee. There is nothing wrong with being a coffee snob.

As it’s coffee related, we spent a week in the mountains of western NC drinking perked coffee!!! I can’t wait till our next trip.
 
My humble new set up. A Delonghi ECP 3420 with a KitchenAid coffee burr grinder. Wonderful grinder guys & gals. Makes TRUE Espresso grinds of your beans then one is able to dial it over for French press. My wife especially likeD the anti-static canister which is remarkable. Didn't know they made something like that. Coffee just slides out easily. No fine grounds popping all over he counter etc. Very clean. It only has a 76db rating which makes it nice for the people trying to sleep.
A little tip. If you will be grinding for espresso inside the bean hopper on top internally it has further adjustment to make it finer. It come from the factory on 8 but take it out click it over to 1 then dail in your espresso on the machine to 65-70 depending on the coffee.
Super happy with my espresso coffee set up.
