While we do not favor plastic utensils, we have not noticed any adverse effects from washing them in hot water. And I have set out water heater to produce HOT water, not warm water.

When we want something different from drip coffee, we have a French press. There is also the percolator for another method.
Got an Aeropress and a small and large French press, among the 2 Bialettis, a Bunn, and other coffee machines.
About the only thing thing we tried and never used again was an old Sunbeam percolator.
Its a beautiful piece of chrome design, with the World's Fair graphic on the side, but it makes a harsh & nasty cuppa ...
The 2 piece vacuum pot on the far left is a fun collectable - but I frankly prefer the Bialetti Moka pot for a coffee treat.

Not all percolators are created equal. The one we have, you Can adjust the brew time. This prevents the harsh taste.
We don’t do single serving coffee methods, well except the French press, but that makes two large cups of coffee. We usually have this after we have drunk a pot from the Technovorm drip machine.

It's a pour over, but can be done almost as fast as one can pour the boiling water into the colander. Unlike typical pour overs which are slow. Which is why I repour the coffee several times to insure I'm getting a full extract. I like how the taste is smoother and appears to have more body.

We've had a Sage Barista Touch for a couple of years.
You can programme it to make coffee the way different people like it and have the programmes listed on the screen by their names!
I can't be assed with all that bother, so I'm "1" and my wife is "2".
I can't be too hung up about different brands of coffee either.
Each person will have a different preference and what appeals to one, won't necessarily, to another.
Presently I'm buying these beans, I quite like the coffee.
It's just a beverage, not a way of life.

No, coffee is a way of life, that happens to taste great! The same can be said for liquor, cars, motorcycles, and audio.
If it is worth doing, it is worth doing it right.

It is like pornography, I can’t describe to you what porn is, but I know it when I see it.
I know what right is for me. When it comes to coffee, it is not just some beverage. We drink it morning and evening. I will “slum it” in the mornings, and use store bought coffee. But for the evenings, it is green beans I buy by the pound, and roast as needed.

I have a Technivorm mocamaster, which those look like a knockoff of. And for the price, I would just buy another Technivorm, if I were shopping for a second machine.

Yeah, maybe, but it is half the cost which is certainly not like life savings but it is a material amount. So, if it's a quality item it would be a good option.
Technivorum is no anywhere near out of our means, but personally I'm more about function than brand name so if I can spend half as much is OK by me.

I don’t shop brands (alone), either. But I also do not buy items made in China. The Technivorm is a family owned company and the product is made in their home country of the Netherlands.
