Topsy-turvy day of upsets and beatings - exciting day

I fell asleep to the Air Force v Nevada game - I should have had a shot of coffee - it went 2OT!

The AP Top 25 re-ranking later today will be interesting:
Penn State gone?
Texas A&M gone?
Missouri gone?
Louisville gone?
Michigan gone?

Florida crashes into the top 10!
Say goodbye to Penn, Louisville, Michigan and Texas A&M

Say hello to Boise, UCLA, and Kentucky

I still do not understand the "love" for Miami. With all the pundit talk of current "resume" of games won for rankings, Miami hasn't faced anyone of consequence - yet they move up to #4?

Same for Indiana.

USC drops six places - surprising it wasn't lower. They've been exposed on defense.

And Tennessee has a big QB problem - I see them struggling to remain relevant.

I think Florida should be #4 after their performance yesterday. They've been underestimated (dissed) all year but put up big-time.

I think PSU made a mistake hiring Matt Campbell and the Cyclone team. They should have made Terry Smith the permanent coach after his performance the 2nd half of last season. They might have been able to keep more of the stars from last year's team that way too. They were better the 2nd half of last year than they are now and Ethan Grunkemeyer is a better quarterback than Rocco Brecht.

With that being said, the PSU defense is good. They played lights-out for most of the game and created 3 turnovers. The offense is lackluster though except for the offensive line. They created holes for the running game and ample protection for Rocco. The running backs, receivers, and Rocco just totally sucked big-time. That's the reason they lost the game after a 17 point lead.

And Oklahoma State.. I never would have put money on that, but they are basically a whole different team(from the coach down)

OU has a terrible QB problem, at least as bad as Tennessee..(I guess worse, becsuse they are not relevant this year)

Michigan needs to stay out of the top 25..(that's my opinion)

I was traveling so missed the saturday games, I did catch the last 7.5 minutes of Oregon-USC, from the failed 4th and 7 attempt..
What was L Riley thinking.?!? and not one person on the team understood clock management, so bad, it almost appeared they were intentionally throwing the game..

Next Friday night there will be two interesting matchups.
  • Pittsburgh @ Virginia Tech - Can James Franklin's Hokies go 5-0? If they do, they definitely deserve to be ranked in the top 25 IMO.
  • Penn State @ Northwestern - Can the Nittany Lions rebound after a humiliating defeat to the Badgers in Happy Valley? Northwestern won't be any easier than Wisconsin was and this time PSU will be on the road.
This week is going to be a great week for sports. Monday Night Football is the Eagles vs Bears. Then on Tuesday MLB playoff baseball begins! Yeah baby!

This weekend is going to be exciting - some great matchups to watch.

I'm thinking there are some games that could be upsets - teams on the road:
Penn St v Northwestern
Alabama v Mississippi St
Michigan v Minnesota
BYU v TCU

These teams better be careful!

The chaos factor this weekend could be crazy!

VT is having a hard time stopping the Pitt run game. Virginia Tech got ripped off though with the horrible interception call. In order for it to be an interception the defender has to take the ball away from the offensive player and that didn't happen. Replay clearly showed that and they didn't overturn it. Bad call that cost VT 7 points.

Penn State can't stop the run. Northwestern is gashing the Nittany Lion defense and Matt Campbell has no answer for it. The offense looks bad. PSU is heading towards their 2nd Big 10 loss if they don't find an answer. I think 2nd half PSU needs to commit everything to stopping the Northwestern run game. Let Terry Smith's defensive secondary go one on one if they have to and take your chances. If not, PSU is definitely going to lose.

PSU has a quarterback that hasn't lived up to his hype from last year. They were ranked pre season counting on the QB play and he is terrible right now. Can't win if you don't score.
