I have had a concept 16.5 since new wonder if anyone else out there has one .

First and foremost, welcome to AK! :thmbsp:

I have a 16.5 (as well as other Concept components) that gets daily play, typically for hours, at my house.

I run a serial number database for Concept receivers, and there are quite a few AK members with 16.5's. I owned a 5.5 for about a month and traded it up to a 16.5 I have seen people post they had more than 1 did you sell rest mine is used a lot also.

I got my first 16.5 at a yardsale about 6 years ago, and I was pretty impressed with it, used it everyday for about 8 months. I sold it to help drum up some $$ to purchase a McIntosh MC 2300. I picked up my second 16.5 about two years ago, it was kind of beat up and had some issues that I didn't get around to fixing right away, and shortly after I did fix the issues, I picked up a nearly pristine 16.5 at another yardsale, so I traded #2 off to another AKer who just had to have it.
The 16.5 that I still have gets into the rotation every now and then, in fact, I think I might like to hear how it sounds driving my Speakerlab 7s. I also have a 6.5 that I need to work on, one of these days....

There must have been a few Pacific Stereo stores in your neck of the woods for that much Concept gear to be around.

Very few of us have seen even one 16.5, let alone run into 3 in the wild. Amazing streak, here's to it continuing!!

So did you ever run into the Concept speakers that may have been with them or did they have other vintage speakers paired with them (or tossed before you got there?)

The YS that the first 16.5 came from also yielded a pair of AR9s for $75. I had to re-cone all four 12" woofers and refoam the 8s, but they were well worth it.
When I bought 16.5 #3, I also bought a set of JBL L-212s and a Yamaha AX 900. The JBLs needed foams and a new tweeters, the Yammie just needed a little deoxit.
