Crash Patrick wrecks herself crashing Landon Cassill

Ah, but the lone (male) Black F1 driver has not only a World Championship under his belt, but has scored more points than his female F1 counterparts combined at about a 1775:1 ratio.

Coincidence? I think not.

In other female racing news, Courtney Force was runner up in the season finale NHRA race this weekend. She even won a funny car race in this, her rookie season, and finished 5th in total points, and didn't wreck anybody (except Ron Capps' championship hopes). In other Black racing news, Antron Brown became the first Black professional drag racing champion at the same event.

Yes, some 56 years into the game, the mindset changed, Lewis Hamilton got a decent shot at it, and look what a revelation he became.

Drag racing is a very exciting and entertaining sport, but, comparing it to F1 racing is tantamount to comparing fishing with dynamite to fly fishing.

I wasn't comparing F1 to drag racing, I was mentioning another form of motorsport in which other female and Black competitors are doing well this year.

Aren't those the ones that have "judges" that will "penalize" you if you "err" during a race? Yeah, that's brutal!!

I've seen tougher driving on the Bay Area freeways by half blind folks who can barely see over the steering wheel of their mini-van.

Yeah, sorry. I guess driving around in left hand circles is where the real skill lies! My bad.

Here's a short vid of a nice cruise around the streets of Monaco, by a kid who can also barely see over his steering wheel (sorry for the site, F1 vids are pretty controlled)

I've seen F1 racing before. It's no more or no less entertaining than any other sport. Hell, some folks think curling is thrilling.

Kangaroo court is too flattering a term to describe how NASCAR meted out the punishment for yesterday's nonsense. Pathetic.

I think Gordon should have been suspended. Not just aggressive racing that happened to wreck somebody, very deliberate and admitted.

How did Gordon's punishment for intentionally wrecking an opponent stack up against Danica's punishment for intentionally wrecking an opponent? Your outrage suggests that hers must have been quite a bit harsher.

Both incidents shine light on what a crock of **** NASCAR has let stock car racing become. Patrick is learning to be a moron in order to survive and cash in. What happened between her and the mobile chicane named Landon Cassill affected nobody else's equipment, and had no impact on anybody's title aspirations or earnings. It would appear that your boy Gordon's gender didn't make him superior in his judgement, or his ability to dump another driver without walling himself.

Why the hissy fit over something you despise so much? You bitch about how bad it is, yet seem to be on top of every single detail.

Hey 'Knee' ...I don't know how old you are but today's NASCAR is no more 'pale' than when Bobby and Cale got into it many years ago !

But she had no way of knowing the extent of the destruction that would shake out of her stunt. She's on record saying she wrecked the guy on purpose, just like Gordon.

My boy Gordon? I've never even watched a NASCAR race, much less become a fan for any driver. And your statement about judgement makes my previous point: Neither driver could know the full extent of the damage they would eventually inflict after making the conscious decision to deliberately cause a wreck during a race.

In my POV, both incidents are equally egregious and should be punished equally.

Were they?

Jeffrey, if you are unable to distinguish the differences in the situations, I cannot help you. The situations and ramifications of the outbursts were quite obviously and radically different.

That said, NASCAR is in the intractable situation (of their own making) of meting out punishment for attitudes and actions that they condone and encourage. The task of making sense of stupidity would be a difficult one for anybody, let alone that bunch. The solution is simple. Establish and enforce Avoidable Contact rules. Clearly, order and clean, hard racing are not what NASCAR wants.

The original notion of this thread was to mock Danica Patrick for walling herself while the nimrod she was trying to dump merrily drove off. This is precisely what the multiple champion of the sport Gordon did yesterday, prior to ambushing him when he came back around to lap him and creating the melee and destruction that he did. My assertion to you is that the predisposition to act in this manner, along with the poor execution of it in both cases has nothing to do with gender.

I am very much looking forward to Patrick winning races in NASCAR. She dedicated her life to motor racing at a very young age, with great sacrifice. I want to see her succeed. I will also take great pleasure in the discomfort of all the backward thinking dickheads that want to see her fail because of her gender when she does.

(twitch54, I'm leaning hard on the age of 60, in response to your question)

it's checkers, not chess

It's not a board game at all. It's racing. If you stopped calling everyone backwards thinking misogynists and looked at the sport for what it is, then maybe you would understand. All of your statements are betrayed by your obvious prejudice. You should probably stick to chess or F1.
