Crown Amps, the hype is real!

If only it didn't have fans.

I have been playing the one I am trying out pretty loud and have only manage to get them to run a couple times in a already hot space. And its was like "oh wow, are the fans are running?" in between songs. had to go look at it.

And just for the record I build or buy good cables, but nothing expensive, as in less that $75 if I buy, I am more about the material and build quality :D

You might want to try these the next time you're looking for RCA cables. They are Silver plated OF Copper and have locking RCA's.

I have a pair. They connect my DAC to my preamp. The build quality is superb.

$40 for a 1 Meter pair. Shipping cost is $22 (from China) regardless how many you buy. They are from 8Audio.

The older XLS-402's that used to drive my subs had fans that were very audible (replaced with quieter fans). Their replacement XLS-2002's have a fan. However I've never heard one come on even when I place an ear very close to them

Some models have a variable speed fan. Goes faster as the outputs heat up as more volume is applied. They may not even come on at low volumes.

This is the one in the PA that sounds incredible

A BBE Sonic Maximizer! Surprised a self-respecting musician would admit to having one in the rack.

Just yanking your chain, I run a couple in my system to compensate for my high-frequency hearing loss.

I have four of the blue ones (Model 362). :) And my current bass pre-amp is this:

I was talking to the owner of Bass Northwest (no longer in business) in Seattle once many years ago and he told me that they could make a $1,000 stereo sound like $10,000. I thought he was full of baloney but he wasn't . I bought all of them off Craigslist for typically $30 each. The one in the photo was more expensive, obviously, as was the bass preamp. I bought all of them used, though. I swear by those things. And yeah, my hearing loss is bad enough now that I wear hearing aids during meetings. Too much time next to loud drummers :(

I bought a crown xls PA, but I also have CV D-9 speakers. Pretty much sums up my non audiophile nature. Fans have never come on, or maybe they have, not sure I could even hear them when its cranked up. Question, where does everyone have the volume knobs set, I read 3/4's which is where I have mine.?
