Does anyone know of someone who can service Crown DL-2 preamps? I've got a couple that are in need of some TLC. Thanks in advance.

Any competent electronics repair should be able to handle it. The service manual is a free download on Crown's website.

If you describe the symptoms someone here just might suggest a few things for you to check based on that and the schematics information. On an older unit, the first order of business is usually to clean/Deoxit all the controls and switches.

Terry DeWick should be able to handle this. Crown may be able to service it for you. I know the DC 300A is the oldest product they still service for you. Do try Deoxit on all controls and switches. Good amps and built tough!

Thanks for your help. I bought one of the units new and I do still have the manual but thanks for the link as it's always nice to have an electronic version of the manual. Crown stopped servicing them years ago so Crown is out. Supposedly Crown tested these out by using a computer that interfaced with them. They were very ahead of their time in the late seventies and early eighties. I have used Terry Dewick several times before for my McIntosh stuff and know his work well. I'll contact him and see if he can help me. There are issues that Deoxit will not fix. Again, thanks for the help from both of you.
