Custom speakers from estate sale

Picked these up at an estate this weekend. Is tom made with 15” University woofers. Unknown mids and horns. Anyone recognize the woofer model?

The horns might be Hepners, some of which sounded pretty good.

The fastener choices are somewhat indicative, too. Drywall screws throughout, with the attendant plastic blow-out from incorrect head choice and over-tightening. Plus hex nuts as washers. Not that I've never done that before, but never for something 'nice'.

Cork sealing gaskets are kind of a waste when mounted from the wrong side. Wonder if there was a substitute for the seal around the back of the frame.

Bases are a hoot, too.

But how do they sound?

Woofers look way too big for the cabinets, and they probably should be in a ported enclosure. These are WAGs, though.

The horns might be Hepners, some of which sounded pretty good.

I'm not suggesting they don't exist. But, i've never met a Heppner in plastic. The examples i've seen in the flesh have always been die cast aluminum.

Open 'em up and check the crossover. I'm guessing it's pretty simple like series caps on the mid and tweeter. Or possibly an off-the-shelf formulac three way.

Pretty sure i've seen those mids with a white cone and blue surround.
Closed-back model which sold for lil money. Forgot the name of the company...
