G'day all, well I've prepared as well as I can for this Cyclone and I now ask the question, what music shall I play?

Perhaps REM's, 'It's The End Of The World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine)' :D Regards, Felix aka catman.

"The great gig in the sky" - Pink floyd. Just be sure to synch up "The wizard of oz"

Felix, please try to stay safe, hope it just blows over real strong and nothing else:thmbsp:

We're getting a blizzard here tonight, think I'll put on some tunes... maybe Jimmy Buffett!

I hope you have a good supply of batteries 'cos you may just need them.
For now you can play Dylan and the Band's Before the Flood. It wouldn't seem right to use a smily here so I won't. Hold tight.

G'day all, I'm scared. As I type this at 12:06 pm (lunchtime), the weather locally has deteriorated alarmingly and we're already getting heavy rain showers and strong wind gusts.

All power supplies and Ham Radio antennas are intact but I'm not sure that they will survive over coming hours and strengthening winds.:worried: Regards, Felix aka catman.

you will survive !!!!
It's easy for us sitting in safety somewhere else to say it but ya gotta have a "survival mode" mentality when the going gets tough.
You are a smart guy....find a way to stay safe and ready for whatever mother nature throws your way. Just get through it and deal with the aftermath when it comes.
Good luck Felix, the AK world is pulling for you.

We always cranked up Jimmy Buffet during hurricane partys down in florida. At least as long as we had power..:thmbsp:

If it was me, and if a Cat 5 storm was on the way I'd choose songs for the road and take a fast car out of there. Be safe.

The Coming Rains, Bruce Cockburn
A Hard Rain Gonna Fall, Leon Russel
Buckets of Rain, Bob Dylan
Somewhere Over the Rainbow, Israel Kamakawiwo'ole

Felix, if you really are on track to get nearly a meter (3ft) of rain as the forecasts suggest, I strongly suggest "Yellow Submarine".

Best of luck, my friend. Will be praying for safety for all.

Tom

G'day all, and thanks. I'm either well organised or very foolish! This is the rain falling in our local area at the moment: http://www.bom.gov.au/products/IDR213.loop.shtml#skip
I like 'Yellow Submarine'. :D Regards, Felix aka catman.

Holy cow that is a scary lookin' map!...Grillebilly has the right idea, find a way to stay safe, you are resourceful, i'm sure you'll pull through alright:thmbsp:

Also, I recommend the Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble classic "Texas Flood", you may not live in texas, but i'm sure the sentiment is the same, I just hope your telephone lines stay up:)

All joking aside Felix. I reckon your best bet is to turn all your power off real soon. I've been through 3 bad ones and I know how you feel mate. :thmbsp:
