I recently got the new Slightly Stoopid vinyl release of "meanwhile back at the lab," and it's marked as made by the Czechs

Thought it odd... Now makes sense.

Haven't listened to it yet.

GZ's quality control leaves a lot to be desired. EVERY LP of theirs that I have has more surface noise than I care for. On the other hand the fidelity is almost always excellent. IMO they just need to use a better grade of vinyl, and quit using the heavy gauge cardboard sleeves which scratch records. Now when I get a GZ pressing I cut the sleeve and remove the record without sliding them out.

I give GZ a 'margin' pass and try not to buy from them if there's an option. ^ As above.

Mastering on the last one wasn't good but I doubt I can blame that on the pressing plant.
