Dahlquist DQ 10 speakers

Ah well. The guy never answered my e-mail. Glad somebody on here got em. Guess I'll keep holding out for the Klipsch Fortes I've been looking for.

You can tell they are mirror imaged by the "left" and "right" labels inside the cage on the back (fastest way to tell). Re-foam them while looking for a pair of speaker stands.

Cheers,
Bob

nice

Its nice to see an AK get these, but sad that another AK missed them.
Great speakers. Re-foam the woofers as mentioned and check the surrounds on the mids. Mine had bad rubber surrounds on the mids.

I don't see stands. Usually they had short "feet" or stands. Mine have the stands. They are about 10 in inches tall.

I mention stands because I find that placement is everything for these. IF your room is cooperative and you get them in the right place, the image is incredible. Mine sounded great in my garage with a little garage receiver. I'm still trying to find the sweet spot inside the house.

They love power. They are also known to be bass weak. Mine main room is a bass eater so I have a Design Acoustics sub woofer hooked up with them. It works OK, but like I said, I'm still working on the sweet spot.

I got a set in June with the somewhat rare crossover and subwoofer ...
Mine were not mirror imaged so I made them so -
Mine don't have the cage on the back ...

I've run mine with a 125w/ch Carver 6250 receiver and they play well -
DQ-10s are a VERY nice set of speakers. Kudos for your deal!

asp69 I think he said I was the first to respond to his listing. I caught it may be 5 to 10 min after it listed. I can tell you this, they will be very well taking care of.

Did you not put the back cages back on, or did you just not get them?

They did not come with the cages -
previous owner may have removed them - but they weren't present when I bought them.

You can just see the Dahlquist sub with the external crossover on top back behind the left DQ10.

They're in storage right now - using something more efficient that plays better with tubes today.

Great deal on those 10's. I have mine hooked up to a G-9000 in a relatively small room - plenty of bass - good luck with them.

Yeah....not sure what the problem is?????? Still a great deal.....I know him pretty well....I am sure 200 wouldn't do it,

Hey bud... enjoy the DQ 10 s ;) I have a pair and am getting a second pair soon . I have many amps and receivers.... just a hint to ya...they are very power hungry. I am driving mine with 160 watts and could easily drive them with 250. They will sound good with a nice matched 60 watts receiver. For the full potential of these you should drive them with at least 90 100 watts. They use the advent 10 inch woofer. I accually drive a set of stacked advents with another amp ..and they complement each other very well. The Kenwood or 9600 is a great match with these speakers. I would not go with a very bright receiver for these. A marantz 2285 or above is another great match for these gems. Enjoy the bud congrats...you got a smoking deal !

All good comments, but you know you are responding to a 2 year old thread right?
