Any info on these or dbx in general would be appreciated. I saw a pair at a local thrift. They are oddly shaped creatures and in decent shape.

thanks

I have a pair of dbx SF-1500's and they are great speakers. I don't know about the SF-100's though. Some dbx speakers are outstanding and others are just OK. Hopefully someone else will chime in.

they are part of a series that began with the SF-1 (and SF-1A), then the SF-10, then the 100. i believe the 100's will be a stout heavy acoustic suspension speaker with 10" woofer, a 4" or 5" mid, and a set of tweeters with one pair (guessing from memory) of tweets set to provide dispersion rather than direct information. this is a good series of speakers, and the woofs are easily replaced pioneer models you can get on PE (if they use the same woofer mine use)

i have been using the SF-10 for a couple years now in my big system, and find them to be a very satisfying speaker

Just don't bother with any of the dbx speakers from the DAK era. :thumbsdn:

--- Remember, the one's with the wrong midrange??
