I like the box-up-the-wife line! :thmbsp:
{Fortunately I don't need to do that to my wife; she LIKES music! :yes: I do wish, however, that she liked audio GEAR a little bit more...

}
I'm glad these were so far away as to be out of the question for me. I have enough trouble with speaker temptations as it is.
Just tonight, I was looking at the following speakers (plus more I can't remember) in the wholesale audio places:
Shahinian Arc (one dealer didn't know what they were)
Visonik (don't know the number; medium-large bookshelf speakers with metal Heco-like grills)
IMF (the dual-woofer ones I described recently)
ESS Heil AMT 1b (for less than what the AMTs alone usually go for)
B&W speakers - the BIG ones with the "stair" arrangement that phase-aligns the drivers, including stands --these were literally on the street, being sold by some Mainland guys, and would have been "a steal")
Infinity RS 5
Infinity Kappa 6.2
AR 4ax
...and an interesting-looking huge old pair of
Fisher VP 9S speakers
And the usual dozens of other JBL monitors and vintage Sansuis and such...
Of course, having recently bought some other things and having limited space, I walked away from all of these... at least for now. It almost physically hurts, sometimes!
At least I've picked up two new clients and taken on some additional part-time work in the past ten days, in no small part simply because I want to buy MORE of these things... at least more of the really good ones, as I sell off the lesser stuff to make room for it! I figure "extra" income can be divided between savings (always a good idea in unstable economic times) and an "extra" audio budget, since it does seem that some good stuff is creeping back into the market here, not in the quantities there used to be, but as you can see from the above list (from just one evening, and only a few of the places!), enough to offer plenty of temptations!
