Wow, I never knew that there were TFs bigger than the 1000s. Learned something today!

gotcha. I would not even describe it as close to ample at this point. Nothing of any substance below 80hz, although the drivers are 'moving'.
I'll see what I can figure out and start a new thread with photos and everything.

Anyways, it's fruitless until I can get them up to my place on my own equipment that I am more familiar with. Could be any number of issues right now. I'll check in again soon.

Yes, eliminate as many variables as possible.

Ended up being mostly crappy avr setup, and possibly bad connections on the receiver speaker terminals, and definitely poor music source. After all that was addresses that are very well balanced for music. You'd want a sub for movies, but I don't think these are really a 'movies' sort of speaker. Night and day difference and I will not be disappointed with them now, I don't think.

Does anyone have ANY insight into these drivers? I have 3 different part numbers for the mids (between 4 drivers, two in each box), and it's driving me nuts that they don't match.
What are the chances someone has a busted up set of TF2000s that I can get drivers from (yeah...right...)
