Dead Technics SU-V6X?

So the coil is at 1 ohm?

And the fuse at 0.3

Try powering on.
Check for 11V ac at terminals 601 and 602 on top side

Also try it with speaker impedance switch in both modes (I’ve seen these cause chaos)
Sorry for the late reply - test with one end of the multimeter on 601 and the other on 602? Doing that with the meter set at 500V I got a reading of 14-15 - once. After switching the impedance over I got a reading of 0- and only got 0 in either position after that. Not sure what happened there.

Mmmm well xfmr is alive

On AC volts range, check switched outlet on rear… is there 120v ac when switch is on?

I'm beginning to suspect that something isn't right with my multimeter - I got 0 from both switched (powered on) and unswitched outlets, but I also got a 0 testing directly from a wall outlet that I know works. I have the multimeter on the 200V setting, which I assume is AC. Thoughts?

Maybe you can post a photo of the front of your multimeter. Mine has two different settings for 200V. One is DC and the other is AC. Also there are different symbols next to the two of them.

Here it is - It's switched to the setting I was using.

Well, I bought a new multimeter and discovered that the old one is fine (I didn't think to take the insulated caps off....) I had trouble keeping the probes where they could get a reading but I eventually found that everything is correct (constant 120v on unswitched, 120v only when powered on with switched). I rechecked terminals 601 and 602 on the transformer - it wouldn't stay consistent but I was getting around 1 v from there if I held the probes a certain way.

With meter on AC V range (200) use terminal 4 and each of the other pins.
Should have 120V between 2 and 4… and 120v at unused pin and 4

If those check out check on top side should have 96V AC between terminals 701 and 702

If there’s 120v between unused pin and pin 4 but no 96v between 701 and 702 there’s an open circuit in the xfmr

That is the case - 120v between pin 4 and the others but only around 9v between 701 and 702
