Ya know the more i look at your pics the more I hate you and Luther. You guys make us all look like fumbling gorillas when it comes to workmanship.... Well maybe its cause I am :)

:lmao: :lmao:

Great room and gear Bill!

Everyones said it, but Ill say it again :jawdrop:

Absolutely Beautiful Bill !

That's what my dreams are made of, I'm green with envy

And happy as hell for you!

First the Lotus and now this...

Think when I die, heaven can wait, I want to stop off at your house first :scratch2:

Billfort.....

Absolutely beautiful. You have great taste and skill in the way the gear is set up and lit. Those 604 cabinets are truly gorgeous.

But....will the room ALWAYS stay that clean? :D

Beautiful

Absolutely a work of love and art.

How impress am l? Bill can l send you some gear please. :thmbsp:

Macc, is that gear you are going to send all that obsolete stuff that uses tubes? :)

Thanks again for all the compliments guys and if any of you are ever in the Toronto area and want to drop over for a listen, let me know.

When you come over Gary could you bring something other than Mad Dog?

That room is sooooo close to how I've envisioned my dream audio room, it's freakin' scary!!!

Of course, with my 200 Mill in lottery winnings, I'll have at least 2 of 'em. One for good ol' Stereo, the other for HT (gotta impress the chicks, ya know!)

Your knowledge of acoustics is impressive. You remind me of a good friend back in MI who pretty much analyzes everything to the nth degree when starting a project. He once analyzed the spectral output of different red LED's so he could figure out how to grow strawberries in his closet with very little power. You are both proof that mad science can produce impressive results!

Well Bill we now all know what you have been doing in your spare time! Certainly well thought out and executed. I am sure it must be very satisfying to have finally got to a point where you can take a breather and listen to some tunes...Your choice of color and Wild,Wests lighting definately gives it a nice feel with lots of atmosphere.Looks like a great place to unwind.Well done!....Enjoy Your Music...Kenny

Your room is beautiful. What a nice job you did! :thmbsp:

Did you consider real wood paneling? I just love wood paneling for sound. I like the look of your lighting. So, you haven't had buzzing problems with the halogens and dimmers?

I have a smaller room and I wish I had a room the size of yours. I just can't bring myself to putting my tube mono blocks on the floor in the basement. Water can be killer. Are you sure the room will be warm enough in the winter? No heat? In Toronto?

The room was already drywalled when I moved in, tearing the ceiling down was as much destruction as I wanted to get into. My last listening room was wood paneled and yes it sounded quite nice, a big reason I changed the ceiling to wood panels.

The basement of my new place is bone dry and the walls where checked for any signs of past leakage and gone over with a moisture meter by an inspector when I bought the house. They reported no problems and this past winter had a lot of wet/freeze/wet type days where basements get wet around here and everything was fine, I don't think I have anything to worry about if I keep outside drainage under control.

The room has heat - 2 heat ducts in the ceiling for the forced-air gas furnace - I just took out the baseboard heaters which where major overkill, the room was very toasty without them.

Excellent job - truly admirable! What would you say was the best thing you did to smooth out your bass response? I have a huge peak at about 60 Hz that is driving me crazy. I'm not quite sure how to fix it, so I mostly hang my head in despair  Electronics I understand quite well, but room acoustics are a mystery to me.

It’s been a few years but I finally got into a position where I could build a dedicat

This was the answer all along Bill, but it seems surround sound was marketed so strongly that even the guys that loved 2-ch relented. Home Theater rooms are nice and desirable, but 2-ch. rooms should have been given equal billing by Manufacterers. I could not personally do what you have done, but I can certainly hire someone. Congrats Bill....you done good!!!
