The sale was over within a few hours of me posting. I wish I could tell you why Amazon does weird stuff like that. I posted right when I saw it. It stinks that you guys missed on it. I thought they might go down in price for Cyber Week and they did a little bit to 96.99, but certainly not as good as the 60.
 
Amazon matches prices with other online retailers (Like Fry's etc). So if someone has a "6 hour door crasher sale" or something like that, so does Amazon.
 
go to 3camels.com and set up a price alert - that way you get an email whenever the price drops below whatever point you set.

I'm from Brazil and I own a pair of those pioneer SP-BS22. I'm really impressed. They sound very good for what they cost.

It is my first post here at audiokarma and I wonder if anyone could sell me and send one those upgrade kits for a profit to my address here in Brazil. Those parts are not easy to find here.

The parts Kit(with the boards already drilled and with Jumper Wires Installed) + the Sonic Barrier + the Hex Key.

I have a pair of the SP-BS21s. Does anyone know how different the woofers are in the 21s compared to the 22s? Am wondering if the crossover in this thread would work for them also since the tweeter is being replaced?
 
i was considering the pioneers for my bedroom only to find this thread and seeing that the tweeter upgrade is the same i used last year to replace worn tweeters in my main speakers in the living room.

they are truly excellent for the money (and then some). i have an extra pair of these tweeters for spares, but i might put them in my old JBL 2500s and add a small sub instead.

anyway, the Vifa is very smooth sounding when crossed 3rd order above 2800 hz
 
Hello, I am considering replacing the tweeter, but was also wondering whether I can use the speakers in bi-amp mode with an active crossover and remove the passive crossover alltogether. In that way, the tweeter and woofer would be connected seperately and directly to my amplifiers. This is technically feasible, but will it sound good ?

I asked that question on another board and was told by DM that since he was selling the modded center he wouldn't give the plans for it, fair enough. However the Philharmonic website no longer carries it and he's using a Parts Express speaker instead, I'm wondering what that mod was or whether they're amenable to the simplified mod of replacing the tweeter and a resistor? I have 3 centers that I got to used as a matched set for the front speakers in a home theater system and found the high end to somewhat dark and limited.

Why not? With very careful design of the active crossover it might even be as good as the D-M modded units!
 
I set the crossover frequency at 2200 Hz - To my ears it sounds a little bright. Based on the crossover design included in the mods, could anyone suggest settings to be used in an active digital crossover ?
 
Hi folks, new member. I just recently purchased 3 pioneer sp-cs22 centre channel speakers for a l/r/c setup..i am really happy with the sound and wondering if their is a mod for these speakers as well - similar to DM's mod for the sp-bs22 speakers. Appreciate any feedback.
