Denon DP 60L S-Arm

Would anyone know if the S-Arm, which came with the Denon DP 60L turntable, be interchangable with a Denon DP 59L turntable? I suspect they aren't, but would like to know for certain.

Skylab - thanks for the reply. I may be purchasing a DP 59L table with only the straight arm. I currently have a DP 60L table, which has both arms and all weights. It would be nice to know the S-Arm will work for both tables.

Wonderful TT the DP-59L. I have had mine for a decade now, and I still love it and use it regularly.

They are physically interchangeable, but they are different weights and they are designated per arm in the manual.

Heavier one with the groove in the middle of the weight is for the S arm. The lighter weight with no groove on the weight is for the I arm. 1000003009.jpg

Wow, thanks for posting this. I bought a mint used DP 60L and it only came with the straight arm. Now I know I have the correct weight :) . Looking to buy an additional straight arm to make cartridge changes easier. I personally like the performance of that arm. I guess it depends on cartridge weight which one to use.

The S arm is screw on head, so not only better for swapping heads, they have less deviation through their arch across the record than straight arms I believe?

When I asked LP Gear which arm to mount the LM15 Needle for the Ortofon LM15 cartridge and headshell on my I arm, they said to just use that I arm.

I'm excited to see if I actually hear the difference, but it's also a PITA to set both the arms up, and currently my main arm bearings are gummy so I can't balance either until I fix that.
