The Nakamichi is serious, but it is one of their basic models, single roller/2 head system but the electronics are fantastic, as the sound also is. I am aiming for a much higher model in the future which will have dual rollers/capstans/3 heads which are quite expensive fully restored. .

Check out this link from ebay for a near mint condtion Nak Dragon:

I very much doubt that will sell with No warranty, and the machine on the outside doesn't exactly look clean. Those fully serviced and restored usually sell for much cheaper than that. I shall watch to see what price it sells, you just don't know what you are getting on ebay.

I have got it in my watch list as well.

You're right, it doesn't look that clean on the front and good point with the warranty concern ;-0

A non serviced one went for $550 recently, that would have been a bargain! These machines are very complex and require a great deal of work to tune properly. I'd rather just send mine to an expert, costly but it would come back almost new =).

Yeah that makes alot of sense and they do have alot of bells and whistles which require serious tuning for recordings etc...
