I second the reel to reel 10" would be fine, there must be a market since OTARI still makes one. I know I have one.

a preamp w. an iPod dock or a stand alone dock ala the Wadia

Can power a L-C-R w/ 1000 watts each, or Tri-Amp the speaker of your choice.

Man, a 3000 watt amp (3 x 1000 output) would be a huge, heavy amp. With power supply transformer, autoformers for outputs, and cooling fins for power transistors, the chassis would be so large it probably would not fit a standard sized rack, not to mention the weight (maybe 180lbs).

I would like an MS model that a) sports a 1TB drive, b) supports other lossless audio formats (e.g., Apple Lossless), c) runs silently or near silently, d) can be extended/backed up via USB drive.

Oh, and balanced out and the MCD500's DAC too.

I'd like to see a MS interface without a hard drive (which limits the storage capability and creates unwanted noise). Something that I can use with my NAS storage device. Basically, a real fancy Squeezebox with quality DACs and a slick video interface.
 
I would love to see a 50W/Ch McIntosh power amplifier with the same styling as the current lineup, with Watt meters, Meter level settings, Headphone jack, speakers off/on control, input level controls L/R and a 1199.00 price point.

I think they would have a difficult time keeping them in stock.
 
I wish that the 6600 had the five band equalizer like the 6900. I have been wanting Mac to put out a 21st century receiver for a while (HD ready) but do not know if I could every live without the five band. I would also like to see industrial faced versions of the current amps put out, like they did with the 2120, 2200, 2150, and 2250. Not as pretty, but the same amps at a more affordable price.

An HD receiver based off the 6300 with the five band and pre-outs would be pretty cool (sort of a modern 4300V). That piece, the MS750, and a pair of Harbeths would make for a one sweet, simple system.
 
Active crossovers and speakers that truly support them. This way one can bi-amp and tri-amp with most efficiency. :thmbsp: Adjustable gain would allow matching different amps like ss and tubes. :thmbsp:
 
How about some Mcintosh Active Speakers with built in DAC and Preamp. Of course the speakers would have meters at the bottom. That way an All digital system could be had from a pair of these XRTDKs and one MCD1000. Hey presto, a world class, simple and beautiful 2 channel system. :tresbon:
