Despicable state of kids today - Video

I was scared to DEATH of that guy...He went to our church, & as luck would have it, he & his wife sat in the pew RIGHT in FRONT of ours...And he & my dad chit-chatted most every Sunday before church...My dad always said if I EVER got one at school, I could expect one 3X as bad when I got home...Pretty big incentive for Moi to be a Dood Widdle Boy...

Earlier this morning as I was following this story on different web sites, I came across a posting from one of the other kids on the bus, naming the kids calling her names, and posting their cell phone numbers.

Now the kids are getting death threats.

Not good.

Well, there's good karma, and there's bad karma... These kids are finding out what goes round, comes round.

Looks like there might be a lot of lessons learned here for all.

Could I get a source on that data? I'd like to take a look at it.

Bureau of Justice Chart (seems that the FBI and the Bureau of Justice don't agree on numbers. Perhaps homicide versus murder definitions differ pre-1920?):

Now that's a LOT worse than the kids they're supposedly disciplining. :thumbsdn: Let the punishment fit the crime, for Pete's sake, & please, don't be a TOTAL jackass about it. Some of us get a little carried away, talking about it, but that's just talk. Threatening someone is not cool, funny, or even remotely OK. :thumbsdn: This is in reply to Fisherdude's post, I should have quoted him.

You are absolutely correct, but perhaps now these kids, and others, will think twice before they start screwing around with somebody. I'm not supporting those threats at all, just saying that sometimes in life you get a whole lot you didn't bargain for, as they are finding out now.

Agreed. I hope this event is an eye opener for other kids that may think this kind of behavior is OK.

Approaching $400,000 of contributions at 10PM local time...

Edit: Just under $407,000 at 10:25PM local time...holy cow...

As I said earlier, the pre-1933(ish) data was based on Census reports (which were based on whatever death certificates got filed), not law enforcement data, and it's known to be horribly inaccurate. That's why Ecksberg did that statistical analysis, which seems to be backed up by what samples of accurate data exist from that era. Some quick Googling of Ecksberg's numbers will explain the problems in detail.

Closing in on $500k now with over 21,000 donations. This lady won't have to work again if she doesn't want to. Clearly what happened to her touched a nerve big time.

These kids are victims of "time out" and "special place" discipline. Sit in the corner and don't move until you've finished your juice box. Back in the day in my culture that special place was a coma.

I feel that there are two over-reactions going on with this case. The first is the threats. Really? The second is the gobs of money involved here. I can't be the only one here who says, enough is enough. Everything about this story has become over-the-top monstrous actions and responses.

Yours, in disbelief,

FWIW, the syndicated story about this story hit our local newspaper here in central PA. It's viral.

How about the despicable (or lack of, especially a father) state of parents today? No excuses, just sayin'.

Now THERE'S a dichotomy for ya'.

Kids know how to take video and post it to the internet at age 10, but people from 13 to 40 can't figure out how to avoid procreating when they fu**.

Wish i could find a pack of kids to pick on me so I can post it on youtube... I can deal with them and I'd like to be rich..

Ya know.. if you would have taken those kids, and put them one on one with that lady, they would each probably be very respectful to her... but you get a pack of kids together, one dare, and they are all jumping in on the pile..

It's not just kids.. it's human nature.. we're flock, or herd animals, and we all just want to go with the flow no matter how good or bad it turns out in the end...

Kinda makes free thinking hard to do when you got your buddies egging you on..

Definitely. I mean, she seems like a great lady who had a bad situatuion. I don't want to take anything away from that...but it's up to half a million dollars. Honestly, I think it would be nice if some of that was put into some related charity or something, but whatever. [I mean, if you were to really put it to math, she's made around 30 years income for 10 minutes]

I'd agree that it certainly seems to have hit a nerve with many people, rightfully so i'd figure. When something goes "viral" you can never expect where it will go.

@Similost, i'd wager you are exactly right. I bet on their own these kids wouldn't have done anything. But in a group they goud each other:scratch2:

This has REALLY struck a chord w/apparently a LOT of people who are FED UP w/the way far too many children act in public today...And the so-called "Parents" who won't raise a finger to control their Little Monsters...
