Do you guys ever change out the knobs on your equipment?

I replaced most of the knobs on my B&K Pro10mc preamp. The originals are solid aluminum that is black anodized. They blend in too much with the black anodized face of the preamp, and are sort of slick because they're not knurled or anything. I found some black plastic knobs with silver inserts, and IMO they add some needed contrast and look better. A little cheap feeling but.... that's the way it goes. Certainly easier to turn. Now if I could only find a volume control knob to match............

I didn't replace knobs but I'd fill the hollow in the back of knobs with non hardening modeling clay. This improved clarity and tightened the bass. These improvements were most notable on preamps and integrated amps; not so much with power amps.

I’m curious....

Which makes and models are you referring to ?????

I suspect that this is an attempt at humour.

You guys did get a bit harsh there for a while. I'm glad it has reverted to just normal levels of judgemental chicanery. :)

Sometimes you do have to get creative with knobs. This Sony was missing a rather unusual style of knob when I got it.

But, I was able to find a solution I was very happy with. At a local store that is regrettably no longer around I actually found 2 that I was able to cut and glue together, one with the right shaft style and the other with a pretty face. I think the end result was really nice. Of course I juggled the position around so the new knob was at the far right on the tuner section where it looked "right" being different.

I once used some healing crystals from a dead friend as knobs on an amp. Sound was sharper, but a bit spooky ...

Not going to lie.. I can be sensitive at times, and I overreacted to the comments here, and I DID ask for peoples' opinions so I can't really be mad at responses! That seems like a very high end combo! I am not used to seeing them with such high quality parts as that one has ;)
