Hi All. like many of you, I opened up AK after a LONG weekend of no AK and found a totally new look. I don't like it much. I know it does all the same stuff but ick! I like change but I liked the old look much better. what do you think??? D.

The cosmetics will be adjusted fairly easily once the dust settles I imagine. We're seeing a beta version today.
 
meh, its different. Give it a week and you'll be used to it. I went through this when I updated a forum from VB3 to VB4. Same thing when you update Windows. Everything is horrible and wrong for a bit, then you find all the buttons and life is happy again.
 
Can't do a quote of another post and all the smileys are gone. The new look beheaded my avatar!:eek:
 
I would have tagged on the thumbs up to that, but its gone too. Everything is a bit too faint. I liked the darker blue old look. I could reads stuff better. Its too faint looking.

Its also good to see where people are from, so we can get them help from a member easier.
The post counts are missing too.
 
has taken me about 4 hours to find my way around the basics .. getting there now .. the alert system should save me some time ...
no problem reading but the background is a little bright ..

Is this why everything is so bright and faint looking??
 
I agree on the background being light. The old blue made reading much easier. Diamondsouled's avatar is motionless too and that is not a good thing. Lose the Facebook themed likes. Otherwise, the tweaks take time.
 
It's definitely an eye strain, and somewhat non-intuitive, but any software change will have a learning curve. I'd prefer something a little more less blinding, but I think the overall move will be positive.

By the way, Big Thanks to the folks That Bust their Butts to keep this Show on the road.
 
I like it. I just had to increase the font size and I am good to go. Nice Job AK....:)
 
I can't seem to find anything with the search function and until Google's spider crawls the entire site all of thier results are broken links. Makes the site pretty useless for research at this point.

Resized your avatar to fit correctly, a small glitch. As for quoting, hit the reply button on the post and it autoquotes you like above. haven't found multiquote though. oh wait, hit the reply in another post, and it come to the bottom reply box too. See below.

Multiquote works decently.
 
I am a little concerned about its functionality so far. Search function is kinda clunky. I'm also worried that my Barter Town threads were all deleted, as multiple searches have not led me to them.

But, it's early, and hopefully I'll figure it out.

Yeah, it's going to take a while to figure everything out. I don't like the miniscule forum notations on the New Posts either. I used to scan them for forums, but now it's really hard to see.
