For the most part................Yes.

I can sit on my shaded back deck, and see two mountain ranges (South Mountain & Catoctin) converge.
I'm within a 1/2 hours drive of three states: Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Virginia.
4 miles east of the Appalachian Trail.
I have over a dozen National and State Parks within a hours drive, not to mention County Parks.
Yet, I can drive to a city of 50,000 (Frederick, Md.) in less than fifteen minutes.
Best of both worlds, IMO!

One of my fave Linda R songs! I always feel like an Old Paint when I listen to that one! And Simple Man, Simple Dreams from the same album reminds me of me. Just give me the dirt, open spaces and clean air, time to relax, the simple life....I'm good.

I dont quite have that but this is a not too big, not too small city, a nice house on the edges looking onto a quaint little park with a pond. A great place to raise kids without having the worries of big city madness. And the open prairie is only minutes away. Western Canada, gets in your blood. Blue Rodeo puts it so well in their song Western Skies.

BTW, it's been amusing watching the USA rage on about medicare. And the way they portray ours is even more amusing how it's being skewed by the ones who oppose it. I live in the province that 1st started medicare in Canada, or as some call it, the birthplace of socialism in North America. I can see some worried US'ens eying that sentence but believe me, a country that takes care of the needy and down trodden and has a social safety net but yet is free enterprise enough where if you have the ambition to get rich, you can, is the perfect balance and makes for a good life. I'm hoping the USA becomes more humane and goes in favour of helping out it's own citizens rather than bowing down to the big money greedy pigs at the trough.

Getting pretty sick of Massachusetts in general. I'd love to move northward toward NH, VT, or ME. Even Canada sounds intriguing, when I have visited there I loved it.

I'll never be able to get the wife to move, I'm afraid. She loves her job, it's 10 minutes away, and her parents live a short walk away, so she wants to stay put.

Our small apt does not receive the attention from the landlord that it should, getting things repaired or replaced is an unpleasant experience at best, and a few years ago the small shopping center at the back of our yard was enlarged and the loading docks were moved about 100 feet from our deck and fence line, so we can no longer enjoy our yard because of the noise and smell of the Diesel fumes.

Dumpsters from the smaller stores are always overflowing, and when they do empty them, most of the time it is at 5:30 in the morning. Trucks start delivering at 2:30 AM 2 or 3 nights a week to the CVS, and the supermarket starts everyday at 5:30 swapping out last nights empty trailer for a full one.

At any given time between 6 AM and 8 PM there will be anywhere from 2 to 12 trucks all idling, and some with the reefer units going, and the noise and smell is unbearable.

Even though the idling of trucks is prohibited, and making deliveries and dumpster servicing is prohibited before 7 AM complaining gets you nowhere, since the plaza is owned by one of the largest taxpayers in town, a grocery chain with at least 100+ stores, and their warehouse/headquarters/distribution center is located in town.

Used to be nice and quiet around here until they remodeled the shopping plaza... We would sit outside in the screen house, BBQ, and all the other things people do in their back yard, but not anymore.

Nothing is more annoying than having a huge roll-off dumpster dragged across the concrete at 4 AM 100 feet away from your bedroom window.

Oh well, it was a nice place at one time!

I love where I live.. There are plenty of good reasons to enjoy life where I live (just outside Oslo, Norway) but when it comes to THIS hobby, I`m insanely jealous of you guys and gals on the other side of the sea... especially the old stuff you (we) love so much are "100fold" more possible to find "over there".. If it show up HERE, It`ll COST ... to give ya an example.. I`m pretty sure I can count on one hand the number of sx1980`s sold here... (perhaps same for 1250/1280`s aswell) .. And I cant remember seeing an three digit (w) Marantz receiver for sale in norway... (which sux, cause THATS what I want)

Well, apart for that... I like where I live....

that's horrible!
i say that cuz i hate noise. unless it's my music playing, heh, heh. but even then, i tone it down a lot compared to years ago.
plenty of room up here in vermont. not a lot of people, light traffic, mostly very quiet, almost paradise.
oh, the downside-not a lot of jobs.

and as i live in an apt. complex, the unmufflered commercial lawn movers used on our lawns are the worst noise makers around imo.
at least it's only 2 hours (~9am to ~11am)/1 day per week (or every 2 weeks if not a lot of rain to make the grass grow faster). so it's basically no sweat.

And then they complain if you crank the stereo! Well, you could always park the van down by the river (or turn#6 at NHMSpeedway).

I hate where I live actually, none of the public lands are open to off roaders, what parks we have are being turned into playgrounds for meterosexuals, i.e paved bike paths and upscale commercial development, none of the lakes have decent fishing anymore because the shorelines and wetlands have been destroyed by yuppies and their McMansions.

I was the tour manager for the Reveen show and spent quite a bit of time at the Confederation Centre in Charlottetown between 1979 and 1995. Char'town is still one of my favorite cities and I miss those tours.

There was someone from PEI at Audio Heritage a few months ago trying to sell a pair of 604Es in 612 cabinets.

Raveen was a favorite of Islanders. If you were at the Confed Centre,you probably went across the street to The Dispensary,a little bar in a basement. It was a popular spot in it's day.Today it is a comic bhook store.
