Anyone have a good source on a LP Stacker spindle for a Dual 1019?
Not even sure if that is the correct term...

Thanks

I have a couple Dual stacker spindles I never use. I think they came with 1228's so I'll have to see if they would fit a 1019 or someone more knowledgeable can chime in. Someone sent me a single play spindle for free this year for one of my Duals, so I'll pass on the karma and send you one if you PM me your address and we can confirm it'll work in the 1019. I can post photos of it tomorrow or look for the AW-2 code on it.

Nice gesture for sure, but the stackers are not compatible.

Most 1000 series LP stacking spindles have the rubber grips missing - they dry out and crumble or fall off - so they don't work. I've heard that they can be rehabbed by using some bits of rubber cut from a turntable belt or similar.

This is the one you want:

I'd like to find a 45 stacker for the 1019. It makes single playing easier especially on that automatic table.

It's called Dual AS9 and now it's rare to find and consequently rather expensive. You can find one just now in the famous auction site in NY but it sales at 75$.
Things are the same in Germany, same rarity, similar prices...

Ebay has them sometimes, but they need rehabbing. You can send yours to pat who is a member here for rehab if you're not good at this kind of stuff. He's also on the bey. Patsaudio I think

Have a stacker for LPs. Never use it. Manual only here. It works. Make me an offer. Asech. Montycat, have a 45 stacker. Have occasionally used on my 1010S. Tried it years ago on a 1015 and 1019 that were passing through here. Make offer. Hope did not violate rules posting this here and not on Bartertown. Would like to see them get used. They are just kicking around.

You are grounded for two weeks or, as my dear late father said it, "Restricted to the yard for two weeks."

And it's rare, not to mention expensive for a working example. The rubber parts inside these spindles are a known issue with age. The 1200 series Dual changer spindles do not fit the 1000 series changers.

From personal experience, I can say that even NOS untouched, still in box AW-2 spindles lose those rubber pads.

Several years ago I bought from a semi-retired repair shop owner the last two he had on hand. Those pads dropped off almost immediately. Unfortunately. I was unsuccessful finding an adhesive that was effective in holding such a small piece of rubber to metal but supposedly it can be done. When in use, there is a lot of pressure on those little pads.

I wound up sending them to Montreal to get fixed at a cost of $50 each making my investment $80 per spindle. If I ever need to do that again, I would look into adhesives more thoroughly and practice my gluing technique so I could do it myself.

That business in Montreal closed down. I can't recall the name but I believe someone or someplace in New York rebuilds them.
