Dual 1019

I've never seen a base like the one on the left before! The cover is definitely from United Audio, but the base says "Dual" and has a shape I've never seen.

I wonder if it's a German-made base? Looks like your Pope-Mobile bubble-top tapers towards the top, this one is almost straight. Haven't tried it on the other 1019. Wonder if it will fit? :scratch2: It fits the plinth of the 1219 almost perfectly.

Good observation about the bubble top. I've never seen a Dual base like that one. The German ones usually look like this:

I do like the look of this one - has the classic simplicity of the AR turntable's base. Would like to find/make a dustcover more like the AR's for it, as I'll not be using the multi-play spindle. :scratch2:

I just swapped carts/carriers with the other 1019. The Grado Black sounds really nice on this deck @ 1.5gm, and seems to pick up far less noise vs. the Pickering XV-15 that came with it for whatever reason... Ran it through the Shure Era V test record, system resonance @ 10Hz, tracks quite well.
