Hi,

does anyone know anyplace online I can find a replacement for the strobelight of the dual 704. this looks sort of like a fuse type lamp but a little different and it doesn't have any specs on it either.

thanks

Proprietary part. Before ordering one from TurntableExperts.com, or All-In-One, lightly sand the ends, and re-install.

Just noticed that you are a bit far from North America.

I tried cleaning the ends and it didn't make much of a difference. it's not that the light makes no connection, the problem is it flickering and when i look at the light itself it looks half burned.

TurntableExperts.com doesn't show the part in stock in their ebay page at least. I'll try to send them an email and see how it goes..

I am a bit far, but closer to the states than europe, and well chile is small country and I know for certain I'm not going to find it here.

thanks

I had the same problem with a 704. I just took a cheap, standard NE-2 bulb and carefully soldered and shoehorned it the right place. It's a tiny bit dimmer than the original but works fine in a dimly lit living room.

It's normal for only half of the bulb to be illuminated. Flip the bulb end to end and the other half will illuminate. I doubt that doing that will save a failing bulb though.
