Does anyone know where to get a supply of Dual turnrtable guides or steuerpimples? These are the liitle plastic pieces that wear out so the tonearm won't cycle. thanks

ra: If you want original ones, just contact "dualfred" - e.g. via his ebay store (http://stores.ebay.de/dualfred). Good to know him anyway, 'cause he has bought up almost the complete stock of spare parts, which had gone from the Dual service company to Pollin Electronic before, so that by now he's become pretty much the best Dual part source over here...

And he's a nice guy, too. I just met him again not quite two weeks ago, when we had the 4th Bavarian Dual-Board meeting in Munich, to which he not only brought his usual assortment box of popular small spare parts, but also his lovely Dualfred table prototype: A modified Dual direct drive with the OPS arm of the Golden 1 in a really massive, black anodized alu plinth - in the meantime already weighing over 25 kg...

Seth: Yup, already a while ago, actually - however, I think things were also delayed a bit, 'cause he had to move from one storage place he had rented for the stuff to another for some reason (which I don't remember or he might not have mentioned anyway...). But to be honest, I doubt he'll ever (or at least anytime soon) be able to put the complete inventory up on the bay or wherever at all, 'cause it's just too much stuff. Well, maybe when he'll retire from his actual job one day - but as extra work it really seems too much to handle.

Which, btw, also is the reason, why he won't sell some small parts like the Steuerpimpels in single units, but for example in packs of three (at least unless one meets him personally), 'cause otherwise he'd not only go nuts, but also would either have to ask silly prices or couldn't cover his costs. Though that might also serve to prevent his wife from going nuts, as she already has to help him out a bit with handling all the orders anyway... ;) Well, maybe I can ask her, 'cause we're already planning a meet at his place - should be fun to hear her opinion. I'd expect something like: "Oh, well - he sure might be a bit crazy, but what shall I do?!? I love him anyway..." :)

There is a guy in Placentia, CA, who sells them on ebay. I forgot his dealer name. He sells a pair of them together. What I got for him works much better than the homade one I tried to limp along with for some months.
