For a first effort I think you did an excellent job, much better than my first effort at all most everything. I would be very interested in your opinions after you listen to them for a while. Have you tried PeteB's BSC with any of your Advents?
Yesterday I finally finished "Econowaving" a pair of OLAs that had been gathering dust in my attic for years.

BSC: Baffle Step Compensation. This has to do with how lower wavelengths are affected by the width of the baffle, sometimes called, I believe, a motor board, in relation to other wavelengths. Baffle is the mounting board for the drivers. In the opinions of many who have tried it the improvement is significant. For example in my experience Bob Dylan's voice is much less nasal, at least on the more modern recordings and quite noticeable on "Blood On The Tracks".
I'm also curious as to the compression driver.
Sweet, they look great! What did you wind up using for the compression driver? 4 1/2 years later I still have mine out in the garage and love listening to them. I'll probably have these forever.
Andyman, as a total novice/caveman, I went the conservative route and just followed the instructions on this build thread. I used Selenium D220Ti from Parts Express.

I've read some experts recommend higher-end compression drivers for this Ewave conversion, and report the results are noticeably superior to the D220Ti..

Looks great.I converted a pair of the utility cabinets and I love the results! I stuck to the standard rebuild and used the Pyle 612H and Selenium D210Ti combos that someone gave me in a swap. My only twist was flush-mounting an NL4 connector as shown in photos.

I will probably get the boards stretchy for a clean look like you mentioned. I'm very excited to start this, it really seems like the best of both worlds.I had a pair of Klipsch KG 4.5, same drivers and crossover, different cabinet and port instead of a passive. What I found is the Klipsch absolutely needed an amp with a high damping factor to sound good in the low end. I thought that while they could reach higher in comparison to a pair of NLAs, the NLAs presented better detail in the frequencies they could reach than the Klipsch. With the E-wave you will have what I think is a more sophisticated crossover and a better compression driver than the Klipsch, even if the Klipsch were upgraded with Crites diaphragms. That being said, the E-wave crossover is simple enough to build on a piece of Masonite, though for most people a circuit board is easier and neater. Not to say there aren't people out there who can't make beautiful crossovers on Masonite, it just takes more skill.
