Thanks for your response. My apologies I forget to add that both amps have had the balance switches Deox'ed and are in the off position. Regards of what position the switch is in the balance control does not balance. Both act exactly the same.

I think I would do the loudness control mod first on one amp, and reassess the problem.

Bumping this up because I’m having the same balance issues with my ST40. The balance knob needs to be almost all the way to the left in order for both channels to be more or less of the same volume. I wonder if the OP was able to sort this problem out?
