Here's the actual item link: http://seattle.craigslist.org/tac/ele/1820282605.html

I don't recognize the drivers, but they're likely to be shy on the bass end, and short of high end...

The price is a bit steep, too.

That said, I kinda like EV stuff and they'd pair nicely with a low powered tube amp. If you could listen to them before you buy, they might work for your application.

Thanks Nate, they look to be 3-way, i wonder if the 12 is some version of a "TRX" with a t-35 coaxially mounted?

Looks like the mid is in it's own sub-enclosure.

Way over priced... I picked up a pair of EV's that have 3 drivers in them, 3 way system, similar sized box.. they were only $40 in great shape..

The 12 appears to have more than one pair of wires going in, i suspect it's a coaxial of some type.

I just picked up a sp12b in a Marquis cabinet. It has all of the above described characteristics.

A tech working on my amp wants to use it to test his new mono block (no output transformer) on.

Steve

I forgot we are in D&S. I don't feel that the $75 I spent went to good use.

$200 is high, but $40 is low. Very low. An anomaly.

You can't peg market value to a one time lucky find.

Looks to be a Leyton (2-way) or Esquire (3-way). The ones with LS-8s for midrange (mid/"tweeter" in the case of the Leytons) are very nice.

The woofers are EV 12BW.

Here's a 'borrowed' photo of a pair of Esquires:

Look very similar to my Leyton's but the crossover is different and the pad on the back would probably say Leyton and there is only a single tone control on the back of my Leyton's. EV's are very good but I agree with other that the price tag is on the high side. $75-$100 is probably more in line.
