Electronics Hoard [MI Estate Sale]

Trenton is just a couple of miles south of me, but I’ve been busy the past few days and couldn’t hit this sale. I visited the sale this morning and found out that most stuff was gone. Figured it would be. Most all of the cassette decks are still sitting there and I found a bed full of turntables upstairs all needing repair of some sort.

Grabbed this nikko beta 20 preamp. They had it marked $75 but today all of the electronics are 30% off. I asked what they would do for me on it and they told me $30. Nice! So far it is working and sounds good. The controls need cleaned especially the phono selector.

They told me that tomorrow will be the blow out sale and everything must go. I may go back for a second look if I have time.

Most of the remaining test gear is marked extremely high. Tomorrow may be the day for that stuff

Yeah, I've bought un-tested un-calibrated test gear before, it needs to be a deal to be worth getting it calibrated (IMO).

If tomorrow is the last day, money talks!!

If I was in the area I would stop by at the very end of the sale. There will be some deals to be had. Name your price.

I stopped back at the sale this morning. Almost everything except for the black plastic cassette decks are gone now. They are advertising 50% off of everything, but they seem to be taking any and all offers.

The carver speakers are still available. They have a $1200 asking price, but $600 today. I got the impression that these could be had for a fraction of that.

I grabbed another preamp and a Nakamichi CD player. Also picked up a zerostat 3.

Poor guy didn't seem to have any tuners except the one Citation. Too bad, his prime buying years were prime tuner years also.

Behind your Beta 20 preamp was on of those Mitsubishi separate chassis amplifiers which complemented their separate preamp and tuner components of the mid 80's.

Good eye! It’s a Mitsubishi da-a15dc power amp. That picture was taken in my garage. I used the Mitsubishi amp to test out the nikko.

I also have the Mitsubishi da-p20 preamp and da-m10 power meters. Either the meters or the preamp can be bolted to the front of the power amp.
