Thanks for the tip, I made it just in time and got the last local copy of EJ TRP3 and the last local copy of The police (Certifiable) both were marked 19.99. Total cost after taxes was 4.34 for both copys.:D:thmbsp:

Thanks for the heads up guys. I was able to get both EJ and Police for $1.99 from my local BB. Also got Guns and Roses Chinese Democracy for $1.99. GNR is not my cup of tea but hey, it was only $1.99.
 
Great deals - thanks lukiedog! I ordered the Police and Woodstock vinyls for later delivery. The Elton John seems to be pulled from online purchase for now so I went to the store and bought the 2 CD/BlueRay version for $4.99 to preview it. It's definitely good so I will order it if it comes available again on vinyl. All for less than $20, so you gotta love it!

Woodstock for delivery when in stock again. However, I wouldn't be surprised to see that one cancelled after some period of time.

I just did the same local pickup for the police and wait for delivery of the woodstock box......I skipped the elton john release as im not a fan and the price is now 9.99.

although I am overjoyed to be able to get the police release for 1.99 and the Woodstock box for $5.

My total with tax and shipping was just over $9 :banana:
 
No Worst Buy near me during the week. The new Elton John/Leon Russell album The Union is pretty good.
 
Salesman at BB told me they had to pull all the Woodstock box sets and send back to cover backorders, Im doubtfull those backorders will get filled.
 
dammit the Police was not available for local pickup afterall......lame. I just got my email saying it was out of stock..... Guess I will have to have them ship it to me.

keeping my fingers crossed on the Woodstock Boxset.
 
scratch that......the Police is now no longer available to be shipped apparently. I called customer service as instructed in the email and then was informed the only way for me to get it would be to find a store with it in stock now.

Picked up both sets at my local BB for 1.99 each! I got that last "Police" triple album they had. I think I will clean them on my RCM and give them a listen.
 
I just placed an order for the "Woodstock" album. I wonder if they will get anymore to ship. Oh well, nothing ventured, nothing gained.
 
You can save yourself the trouble of driving around if you do a store availability search by your zip code. None were available in the Phoenix Metro area when I checked for availability. But that may not be all that accurate, either.
 
Didn't find Elton John but I bought The Police album online and going to pick up at the store tomorrow as there was a copy available at a BB nearby.
 
I started a post about all this yesterday after I visited my local Best Buy and found the Elton John triple album on sale for $9.99 (check the dollars and sense forum). Later in the evening, I found Best Buy had dropped the price to $1.99 from their website. I had thought $9.99 was pretty damn good for a new and sealed triple live album!

All these albums (The Police, Woodstock, etc.) are closeouts. I highly doubt they'll replenish closeouts. So pending online orders most likely will never materialize. You have to visit your local stores to search. Do not depend on their online store search as it's highly inaccurate. After finding out the price had dropped to $1.99, I wanted to pick up more as future gifts. But their online search showed none in stock at my local stores. I still went to my local Best Buy this morning and found the W. Los Angeles store had 5 in stock. I bought all 5 at $1.99. Went to another store and they had The Police, so I bought that too. They also had the Elton John Blu-Ray for $4.99! I also got a price match for the one that I bought yesterday for $9.99!

Go visit your local stores. You'll never know if they have any left until you go. Do not rely on pending orders online as they probably will never replenish a closeout item. I have no doubt these were sold at a loss for $1.99.

And there may be other albums/artists as well. Don't look at the posted prices on various albums, take them to be price checked on the computer. I think a Michael Jackson LP was listed on sale (website) for $7.99, but retailed for much higher. As discussed here, there are Guns & Roses, etc. as well.

Post your finds here if you discover something good.
 
My girlfriend went back to the Best Buy where we picked up the Elton John albumand got the G'N'R album for 1.99. She said she saw the Police album I bought online sitting behind the Customer Servive counter with my name on it. So this morning I'm going back to pick it up. To be honset, BB had some pretty good prices on many LP's. My local BB didn't have a big selection, and am surprised on the ones I found. I agree though, since it was close-out, I doubt they will get much more.
