Erroneous tuner display

Today, I picked up an SAE TWO T14 tuner.
It operates well.
However the digital readout displays erroneous results: 0.3 is added to every station.
Is the fix easy or expensive???

Sounds like the 2 bit and the 1 bit are stuck high on the 0.0 readout. Does it ever read zero? Does it add 0.3 to every station frequency?

Not an easy fix unless it is some kind of corrosion on the connections or a cold solder joint on the readout board. Try tapping the board with the rubber handle of a small screwdriver to see if it changes the display.

I have an SAE Two T-14 coming this week and I can hardly wait to hear it. How does yours sound?

I will try the tap tomorrow. And I will hit the area with some aerosol electronics cleaner.
Corrosion may be the problem. I live in the tropics and this unit was stored idle a while.
Never zero
0.3 to every station.
The sound is ok.

So, would 88.3 appear as 88.6 & 104.5 as 104.8?

Or is it that the last digit is always a ".3"?

It may also depend on what kind of a scheme SAE used in their Japanese sourced tuners...whether it is a frequency counter or just a digital display...but, it could be that there is some kind of trimmer adjustment that would allow you to bring the display into agreement with the actual station frequency...

But, I've already exceeded my knowledge here....this is based on what I used to deal with in the first series of Ham and Shortwave radios and their digital displays...which I have forgotten more about than I can remember....

Really just sounds like it needs an alignment.
