ESS AMT 6 Professionals

I'm looking for help in determining the value of some rare ESS AMT 6 pros in 9 out of 10 condition. Thanks

1200 was the last price I remember seeing them sold, about the same condition as well. They are a great speaker, just depends on the desire if your looking to buy, or how fast ya want to sell lol.

Most ESS AMT speakers are hard to find because no one gets rid of them! Those ESS AMT 6 pros are among the rarest and best of that line...

I bought these with a pair of rock monitors from the heir to the original owner in Sacramento. Ca where they were made. I had to reform all 10 non Heil drivers.

Presence is definately the word. I can be in an adjacent room and it sounds like they are playing there. I may part with the 6's due to size and $. I will never part with the AMT 3 Rock Monitors. The 6" mid frees the Heils from double duty unlike any of the other AMT,s. The 6's do this I believe by dedicating 2 of the Heils to highs and 2 to mids. Both 12's are active. I've been driving the 6's with a Marantz 2325, Sansui G22000 and a MAC 1500. All sound Wonderful!!!

Awesome Mitman! I also have a pair of AMT 3's. Great speakers. I purchased my first pair of ESS speakers in 1975, AMT 1's that I still have also.

Awesome-I like the looks of those 6's-but I agree it's hard to beat the AMT3's.:thmbsp:
I also agree -it's nice bieng in a totally different part of the house and have that wonderful sound follow you.
One of the aspects I truely love about Heils speakers-how the sound travels-you can truel enjoy them in the next room kitchen etc-no need for extra speakers!! Yet the remains coherent image wise.
One of the things I missed when I sold my first pair of Heils-never again-I made extra sure of this by buying a extra pair of AMT3's for good measure!

AMT's rock, Heil's rule. Best speakers I ever owned. Listening to them now from another room- the band has moved in, they are crystal clear. Those rock monitors will serve you for many years to come...

Just bought a pair of AMT 3s after wanting ESS for almost 40 years.

How much do the 6 Pros weigh?

Also has anyone actually seen the Transars?

Many years ago I heard a Pair of the ESS AMT 6's Driven by a Kenwwod Amp. We compared them to some much more modern, abiet smaller ESS speakers of the day, thinking it would be unfair to compare the old 6's with their antiquated Heils with the much more modern ones. Nice Try. The AMT 6's sounded much better. And oddly it was the midrange that improved the most.

I don't know how they did it, but that speaker had one of the best ballances of Max SPL and High Accuracy Sound I've heard. I think they fly under the wire for a speaker of it's caliber because few have heard it.
