The AMT3 woofers are 8 ohm wired in parallel. ESS does not make a direct drop in woofer for the 3. you can find the schematics on their website. There are several AK members who have actively experimented with aftermarket woofers with very good results if you do a little searching on this site. There is also a person over on the facebook ESS owners thread that has recommended Dayton woofers available at Parts Express. My 2 pair of 3's are all stock right now. I may get the gumption to swap out the drivers at some point in the future.
