Picked up this NOS face plate several years ago. Now I can't remember the model of the amp it is for.
Any ideas?
Its 19"L x 5 3/4"H.
Just a big chunk of aluminium with the logo. Designed for a rack mount.

What the?

I'd love to see a higher resolution shot of the Marantz logo. I don't think there were any production that would've used that plate which leads me to belive that it may be a later reproduction, still very cool.

Does it have a reference groove on the bottom of the back side?

Edit: Maybe they made blank plates for rack mount setups, that would be awesome.

Yes, it has a thin groove along the bottom of the back. I took another shot of the logo. Its not engraved.
As I recall the guy had a lot of NOS Marantz face plates that he bought in France. I bought a 2200 face plate off him as well. It is just the face plate no plastic inserts or rubber washers on the inside of control holes.

Whatever is it, it's very cool and I've never seen anything like it. It's rumored there may have been a 260 power amp with a flat plain face with no pilot light but from the images I've seen it had a plastic name plate on it and 6 holes to the chassis.

I think this may be a blank cover for rack mount stuff.

Take a shot of the groove!

My vote is for a blank spot in a rack setup. I would also think it might be rare, or specially made for a dealer or something of that nature.
