Fair price for a Pioneer PL-600?

I don't know if the 600 is the same as the 400. They look similar.

These are the parts to a 400. Not very impressive.

IIRC, six screws hold it all together.

If this is on ebay, be aware that you take a chance with shipping. Many folks bid on a tt and receive a pile of junk. Try to get the seller to confirm that he will at least remove the platter and tie the tonearm to the rest. Many sellers simply don't care, no matter how much you beg.

I would say that if in perfect condition I would feel comfortable paying perhaps $150 max.

I got a couple pics from the seller. did this unit come with a wood base? I thought it did, but he does not have it.

Nope. Local seller. Went and tried it out today. its got some issues, but none that seem unfixable. Brought her home.
1. the 33/45 switch stuck down, so I could not test at 45 rpm. 33 seemed to work fine.
2. the auto start seems to stick. if you simply "help" the arm with a touch, it goes fine.
3. looks like the arm starts a little too the outside of the record, and goes a little to far to center when played. That cant be too bad to adjust.

those are the main problems. it seems that things are just dirty to me. I asked if the previous owner smoked, and he said yes. so, there might be a little tar build up on the 33/45 button, as well as somewhere to make the arm stick on startoff. the power button feels a bit rough as well. again, seems dirty.

So, I'm off to find the service manual. and see what needs to be done. it came with a cart, but I have not looked at what it is yet. its yellow though. lol. more soon. and ANY help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.
